About Projection Point
Projection Point is a project to gather information about risk intelligence. We think high risk intelligence is rare, but we don’t know exactly how rare it is, so we set up ProjectionPoint to find out. For more information about the concept of risk intelligence, click here.
Risk intelligence can be measured by calculating something called a “calibration curve”. A perfect calibration curve would lie exactly on the diagonal line, so the area between the curve and the diagonal would be zero. Nobody is perfectly calibrated, but people with high risk intelligence come very close to this ideal. For more information about calibration curves, click here.
The origins of this project lie in 2008 when Dylan Evans, a British scientist, was doing research in decision theory and risk management. He read about the research in calibration testing, but wanted more data, so he teamed up with German computer programmer Benjamin Jakobus to put this website together.
The website was officially launched on January 1st 2010
Projection Point is a private, independent, non-profitmaking project set up by Dylan Evans and Benjamin Jakobus with their own money to satisfy their own curiosity.
